Benefits of Electric Vehicles

Similar to more traditional gas-powered vehicles in most ways. However, EVs offer many benefits you won't find with a more standard lineup. These advantages include:

  • Charge Up at Home: No need to stop at the gas pump! You can charge up at home or on the road at public charging stations.
  • Federal Tax Credit: Buying an EV qualifies you for a federal tax rebate up to $7,500 on most models.
  • Local Incentives: Local incentives in Connecticut help you save even more on your purchase, lowering monthly payments down the road.
  • Low Cost to Own: EVs require less maintenance and repair than gas-powered engines, saving you money on your new model.
  • Quick and Quiet: EVs provide instant acceleration, delivering fast, smooth performance and a quiet ride.

Which EV Is Right for Me?

Electric

The only purely electric model available, these vehicles offer the smallest carbon footprint and save you the most on maintenance without requiring gas.

Plug-In Hybrid

These vehicles utilize a combination of a gas-powered engine and a rechargeable electric motor to help extend your range. The battery provides a short distance on electric power alone.

Hybrid

Traditional hybrids work similarly to PHEV models, utilizing electric motors and gas-powered engines. However, these models will recharge as you drive – no need to plug in.

Charging Your Vehicle

EVs can achieve different charging times based on the charger.

  • Level 1 Charging: Uses a standard household outlet and can charge about 2-5 miles of range per hour. Typically a good choice for a plug-in hybrid vehicle.
  • Level 2 Charging: Can be installed at your home by a professional electrician and charges about 10-20 miles of range per hour. Usually a good fit for an EV that can charge overnight!

Home Charging

Charge your EV like you do your phone.

Public Charging

More than 110,000 publicly available charging points in the US and Canada.
